Email support@askfred.net. A person reads it, usually the same day. Say what phone you have and, if a line read wrong, what you wrote and what Chit read.

How to write

• Write with one finger. The top line is the table and guest count: 12 4.
• A number in the left margin is the seat. It applies to every line below it until the next seat number.
• Indent a line, or start it with a dash, to attach it to the item above: - no oni.
• Draw a line across an empty row to start the next course, or write APPS, ENT, or DESS.
• Draw a line through a line to delete it. Undo brings it back.
• Write near the bottom and the pad slides up by itself. Drag the right edge, or use two fingers, to scroll back.

Fixing a reading

Press and hold the line. You will see the alternatives Chit considered, a place to type, and, under "Read as", what each abbreviation was taken to mean. If one is wrong or unknown, tap Teach, type the meaning, and Chit remembers it from then on. You can review everything it has learned under Settings, My shorthand.

The handwriting model

Chit downloads its handwriting model once, on first launch, and needs a network connection for that step only. If the download fails, check the connection and tap Retry. After that, Chit works offline. You can re-download the model from Settings.

Subscription

Your first 30 tickets are free. After that, a full year is $6.99, charged by whichever store you installed from.

On iPhone, manage or cancel it under Settings, your name, Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple through reportaproblem.apple.com.

On Android, manage or cancel it in the Play Store under your profile, Payments and subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Google through your Play subscriptions page.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription on either store.

Your data

Tickets never leave your phone. See the privacy policy. To remove everything, delete a ticket in History, or delete the app.
